Second Grade News: December 6-21, 2017
Here is a peek at the
upcoming two weeks.
Reading: We will be studying baby animals, and focusing on the
question, “How are animal offspring like their parents?”
Spelling: Words with consonant digraphs ch, tch, sh,
ph, th, ng, wh. Our next spelling test will be on Friday, December 15.

High Frequency Words (sight words): By
the end of the unit, your child should be able to read these words quickly
and easily. Please post this letter in a handy spot (on the fridge,
etc.) and have your child practice reading through these words a couple of
times each day.

12. Our Christmas party will be on Wednesday, Dec. 20. Please purchase a
$3.00-$4.00 gift for the gift exchange. Girls bring a gift for a girl, boys
bring a gift for a boy. Please also plan on sending in something for our trail
mix. Thursday, December 21 is a half day, and is also pajama day.
